Costco asks $30K for Babe Ruth-signed baseball

No, you can’t go out to the ballgame and, no, you can’t go out to the crowd. But if you’re a Costco member, you can buy a one-of-a-kind baseball online.

The retail giant has listed a baseball signed by Babe Ruth for sale. The price: a mighty $ 29,999.99. But hey, that price includes shipping and handling.

The ball appears to be in good shape. It’s not clear when the Hall of Famer signed it, but the white exterior has only slightly browned. The red and blue stitches are still nicely intact and, most importantly, the slugger’s signed name is still clearly visible in blue ink.

It’s officially licensed by Major League Baseball, according to the product listing, and it also comes with a certificate of authenticity.

The baseball is not eligible for return or refund.

It’s not the first time Costco put an item with an outrageous price tag up for sale. Last year, the retailer offered a 72-pound cheese wheel for $ 900 and an engagement ring for a whopping $ 388,000.
