• In a new Instagram post, Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—aka Dr. Pimple Popper—teases a monster cyst pop on the upcoming episode of her hit TLC show.
• The photo appears to be of a pilar cyst, since the growth is located on top of a patient’s head.
Dr. Pimple Popper airs Thursday nights on TLC at 9/8c.

As if we needed another reason to get excited for Dr. Pimple Popper!

In a new Instagram post on Wednesday, Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—star of TLC’s hit series Dr. Pimple Popper—teased Thursday night’s upcoming episode with a truly shocking photo.

“Hmmm…is it rope? …is it a makeup brush?” she wrote in the caption.

Honestly, both are accurate descriptions for the monstrous thing depicted in the photo. There’s an incision on top of a patient’s head, through which a cylindrical chunk of gunk is poking through. It’s just so thick. And crusty. And we want to know why the top half is dark red, and the bottom half is dark yellow. (Commenters compared it to a mushroom, a tree trunk, and “a damn toe growing out of her head.” All valid.)

If we had to guess, based on the zillion other Dr. Pimple Popper posts we’ve looked at, this might be something in the pilar cyst family. Pilar cysts form around hair follicles, which is why they’re often found on the scalp. Then again, we could be wrong—sometimes Dr. Pimple Popper surprises us.

Check out the photo and decide for yourself what you think it is! And remember, Dr. Pimple Popper airs Thursdays on TLC at 9/8c.
